Metropolis Festival 2018 dates:

Metropolis Festival takes place in the Main Hall Complex of the RDS (The Royal Dublin Society) at Merrion Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. Public transport is advised as there is extremely limited parking in the area and the venue is only 10 minutes from the city centre.

Important: The Dublin City Marathon is on Sunday October 28th from 8am and there will be traffic disruptions and road closures throughout the day in Dublin. Metropolis organisers suggest checking www.dublinbus.ie for information on routing issues. The Irish Times will have a good overview of how the marathon affects travel and getting about in the city on www.irishtimes.com closer to the event. Please note Irish Rail DART services will only serve stations between Howth/Malahide & Connolly Station and Dun Laoghaire & Bray. There are no services between Connolly Station and Dun Laoghaoire along with Bray to Greystones. Please check www.irishrail.ie for more information.

BY CAR:

Limited parking will be available at the venue in the Simmonscourt area of the RDS. You can pre-book your day parking slot for €7 per day using parkbytext. Please remember you need to print off your confirmation as proof of purchase. www.parkbytext.ie

Drop Off:

If you are getting dropped off Please drop and collect on Anglesea Road or Simmonscourt Road. Dropping off and pick up are prohibited on Merrion Road.

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

BY Dublin BUS  

Best way to travel to Metropolis is by Bus or DART.

Take a bus from city centre. Stop 405 on Nassau Street opposite Kilkenny Centre.

RDS is serviced by Dublin Bus routes 4, 7, 7a roughly every 5 minutes from this stop and the trip takes 15 minutes. This stops outside the festival entrance on Merrion Road.

Buses to Donnybrook Bus station, a five minute walk to the festival entrance, include the 84x, 145, 46a and 145.

Travel By DART

Please note Irish Rail DART services are not operating between Connolly Station & Dun Laoghaire Station, along with Bray to Greystones.

MOBILITY IMPAIRED ACCESS

Parking areas for mobility impaired persons will be accessible from the Merrion Road gate B. Display of mobility impaired parking sticker in a visible position is necessary. Please note there will be a delay of 30 minutes exiting this car park.
 

GETTING HOME

Dublin Bus

Dublin bus will run a direct service from outside venue on Merrion Road to city centre directly after the show. Fares will be €2 and LEAP cards will also be accepted.

 

TAXI

There will be a dedicated Taxi Rank situated on Anglesea Road.

Exit Venue on Merrion Road and turn right for 20m. Taxis on Right .

Follow instructions of stewards.

 

On FOOT

City Centre is approx. 20 minute walk from venue. Follow signage and directions from Stewards.
